Position Based on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision
SANTA CLARA, Calif., 30 May 2012 - McAfee today announced that leading research firm Gartner, Inc. has placed the company in the leaders’ quadrant in its “Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management” as published on May 24, 2012. Gartner’s research examined leading vendors who offer solutions in the security information and event management (SIEM) marketplace. Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management Platforms is based on an assessment of a company’s ability to execute and completeness of vision.
The key criteria used to evaluate vendors were the customers’ need to analyze security event data in real-time for internal and external threat management, and to collect, store, analyze, and report on log data for regulatory compliance and forensics.
“We believe McAfee’s position in the leader’s quadrant demonstrates the performance, value, and strength of the McAfee Enterprise Security Manager solution taking situational awareness to new heights,” said Ken Levine, vice president, Advanced Technology, McAfee. “Strong situational awareness is an organizational necessity in today’s world of insider and targeted threats. We will continue to innovate upon this powerful foundation with our valued SIEM integration partners and our commitment to security connected at McAfee.”
McAfee Enterprise Security Manager expands SIEM from simple event analysis to accurate and actionable information through the integration of threat, user and countermeasure intelligence. The unique McAfee “built for Big Security Data” SIEM includes dynamic threat visibility from McAfee Global Threat Intelligence, and countermeasure awareness through McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator software and McAfee Risk Advisor.
