Program Overview

Enterprises are increasingly confronted with new security threats, complex technology management challenges and overwhelming pressure to protect their brands while reporting on compliance. And of course all this must be accomplished with fewer staff and smaller budgets. McAfee created the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance to enable the technology partnerships and interoperable solutions needed to ease these challenges.

The foundation for this program is McAfee's commitment to intelligent security and compliance optimization within its own Security Risk Management solutions. More than 35,000 enterprise customers have already invested in the McAfee SRM architecture to protect over 55 million computers. By opening up this architecture and providing direct support to technology partners via the Security Innovation Alliance, McAfee is extending this commitment to the heterogeneous environments managed by its customers.

Business development managers, online training, software development kits and developer support help SIA partners get started. Once certified, SIA partners use the “Certified by McAfee” brand to assure their customers that their solutions interoperate with McAfee products, enabling faster time to deployment and lower total cost of ownership. These benefits also extend to McAfee channel partners, who are always anxious to improve the value of their solutions and the efficiency of their deployment. The resulting value network produces a win/win/win/win scenario, as shown in the figure below.

Partner Classification

• Development Partners form the first tier of the Security Innovation Alliance. These partners have yet to certify their first product, but are working toward this goal by joining the alliance and using the tools provided. A Development Partner “graduates” to the Solution Partner tier once they have at least one product certified by McAfee.
• Solution Partners form the second tier of the Security Innovation Alliance. These partners have certified at least one product and thus are eligible to tap into all of the marketing benefits provided by the program. These include certification logos, solution collateral kits, placement on the SIA solution website, and participation in McAfee events. Of course Solution Partners continue to retain all Development Partner benefits so that they may maintain existing solutions through new releases and develop new solutions that fit with the McAfee SRM architecture.
• Premier Solution Partners form the top tier of the Security Innovation Alliance. In addition to the benefits of Solutions Partners, Premier Solutions Partners qualify for fee rebates, market development funds, and increased support by developing and pursuing joint business solutions with McAfee.

• Use of the McAfee brand—The Certified by McAfee logo distinguishes your product as interoperable with Mcafee solutions, such as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator^® (ePO^™)
• Joint promotional activities—McAfee conferences and events present sponsorship and promotion opportunities that increase the return on your marketing dollars
• Increased visibility—Your solution will be listed in the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance directory

Developer Benefits

• Developer support—Development Partners have access to McAfee SDKs, online product training, and developer support resources
• Out-of-the-box, certified interoperability—Our certification team works with partners to ensure proper interoperability for a joint solution
• McAfee SRM architecture—Well-defined APIs are accessed through category specific SDKs that fit your product within the McAfee SRM architecture
