Evaluation based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
SANTA CLARA, Calif., – August 12, 2011 – McAfee today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., a premier research and advisory firm, in the Leaders Quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Secure E-mail Gateways” report published on August 10, 2011 (written by: Peter Firstbrook and Eric Ouellet).
This report evaluates 16 vendors. According to Gartner, “Leaders are performing well, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership positions in the market. Companies in this quadrant offer a comprehensive and proficient range of e-mail security functionality, and show evidence of superior vision and execution for current and anticipated customer requirements. Leaders typically have relatively high market share and/or strong revenue growth, own a good portion of their threat or content-filtering capabilities, and demonstrate positive customer feedback for anti-spam efficacy, and related service and support.”
“We consider our positioning in the leaders quadrant by Gartner a confirmation of McAfee’s ability to execute on our strategy to deliver the industry’s most flexible, comprehensive, and bi-directional solution for email security,” said Marc Olesen, senior vice president and general manager, Content and Cloud Security, McAfee. “Our customers need their email security solution to do more than just block spam. Not only do McAfee solutions provide market-leading security, they also integrate DLP, compliance, archiving, and business continuity functions. By leveraging technology from across the McAfee portfolio, we are uniquely positioned to provide the most robust security technology into and across corporate security infrastructure.”
McAfee delivers email security solutions as on-premises appliances, virtual appliances, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). McAfee SaaS services can be combined with on-premises and virtual appliances for a hybrid delivery.
