McAfee Inc. Names David Welsh as Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development

Experienced Track-Record in Mergers and Acquisitions adds Even Greater Depth to McAfee's Management Team

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) today announced the appointment of David Welsh as executive vice president, corporate strategy and business development. In this role, Welsh will be responsible for all business development activities, reporting directly to McAfee President and Chief Executive Officer David DeWalt.

Prior to joining McAfee, Welsh served as a partner for seven years at Partech International, an international venture capital firm, where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing on venture capital investments. Previously, Welsh headed corporate development for Portal Software, an Internet billing and customer care software company, where he was an early team member that grew the start-up company to more than $200 million revenue per year.
