McAfee Community Involvement
Donations: Software, Cell Phones, and Collection Drives
Community giving goes beyond direct financial contributions. We complement our financial contributions through targeted giving of software, telecommunications, and other items.
Software Donations
At this time, McAfee is revamping its program for software donations to qualified charitable organizations.
Cell Phone Donations
McAfee is proud to support the national Call to Protect campaign through periodic donations of our old mobile phones. This campaign collects wireless phones to benefit victims of domestic violence. Collection Drives
Our Community Involvement program is strengthened by the personal commitment of our employees to make a difference in their communities. Whether the cause is feeding the hungry or providing for the disadvantaged, our employees routinely organize collection drives in support of our goal to give back. Here are some highlights:
America's Second Harvest
Each year, McAfee employees take part in an annual canned goods drive to benefit America's Second Harvest. This organization is the largest hunger-relief organization in the US, with a network of more than 200 food banks and food-rescue programs. For more information, please visit www.secondharvest.org.
Backpacks and Books Back-to-School Drive
The McAfee Plano office participates in the annual "Backpacks and Books Back-to-School Drive." This effort supports the Kid Net Foundation, a Dallas-area 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency formed in May 1991. The foundation was established to provide housing and specialized services to needy children, with an emphasis on underserved and at-risk populations. Their facility, known as Jonathan's Place, is a 12-bed, long-term foster group home and emergency shelter that serves 250 children annually. For more information, please visit www.kidnet.org.
Family Giving Tree
Each year, McAfee participates in a gift collection drive in conjunction with the Family Giving Tree. The Family Giving Tree is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is dedicated to fulfilling the holiday wishes of kids who would otherwise go without gifts.
