Citrix and McAfee partner to provide business continuity and regulatory compliance solutions with software for securing data and applications via centralized IT management, such as McAfee Agent, McAfee VirusScan, McAfee AntiSpyware Enterprise, and the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator platform.

Through McAfee’s participation in the Citrix Ready program, customers can be confident that McAfee’s system security and vulnerability management products have successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work effectively with Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop. “By joining the Citrix Ready program, McAfee makes it easier for joint customers to buy with confidence,” said John Fanelli, vice president of community and solutions marketing at Citrix. Citrix and McAfee recently announced a strategic partnership and collaboration agreement to make virtual desktop security simpler and more scalable for large enterprise deployments. The collaboration between the two leaders in security and virtualization will enable Citrix XenDesktop 5 customers to extend management of desktop security to virtual environments using the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator platform. As part of the solution, Citrix and McAfee will develop security solutions for VDI-based virtual desktops that centralize all virus scanning and virus signature file updates, off-loading the processing intensive actions from the individual VMs. The first product resulting from this joint collaboration effort is McAfee Management for Optimized Virtual Environments (MOVE) AntiVirus.

Offering XenDesktop 5, alongside an ecosystem of partners proven to succeed with Citrix products, gives customers the inherent confidence they need to make the transition from physical desktops to virtual desktops and applications. In doing so, Citrix has partnered with McAfee to provide the security solutions needed to protect Citrix virtual desktop customers.
