Gavin Struthers, senior vice president of worldwide channel operations, is responsible for all aspects of the McAfee worldwide channel strategy and operations. Struthers is focused on making strategic investments, driving partner innovation, differentiation, growth, and profitability across all global regions, and ensures that partners continue to be trusted security advisors for mutual customers.
Struthers has been with McAfee for 10 years and has 20 years of sales and general management experience. Prior to becoming senior vice president of worldwide channels, Struthers served as vice president of channels, alliances, and specialist sales in APAC for three years. He was responsible for business development and implementing product go-to-market strategies for McAfee’s channel partners and alliances across APAC. Prior to joining the McAfee APAC leadership team, Struthers spent four years as McAfee’s regional director for Australia and New Zealand. Highlights from his career at McAfee include growing the business beyond market growth levels, taking market share from the competition, and developing several significant partnerships with leading system integrators, outsourcers, and solution providers.
Struthers has worked in various sales and general management roles across Australia, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and South Africa. Prior to joining McAfee, he served on the management team at Novell in Australia, after moving to the country in 2000. Prior to that, he spent almost three years managing Novell’s Middle East and Mediterranean business, where he established a regional presence for Novell in several new countries. Key to his role was developing these emerging markets; initiating new partnerships with key solution providers and integrators; and forging services, support, training, and marketing initiatives in high-potential countries. In his formative business years in South Africa, Struthers worked in sales and sales management in a leading VAR, and served as a director of a VAR focusing on the financial services sector.
Struthers holds a bachelor of commerce (Information Systems major) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
