McAfee Community Involvement: Community Grant Recipients

Below is a sample of the organizations and events that McAfee has supported recently through Community Grants.

American Red Cross

Governed by volunteers and supported by community donations, the American Red Cross is a nationwide network of nearly 900 field units dedicated to saving lives and helping people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The Red Cross annually mobilizes relief to families affected by more than 70,000 disasters, trains almost 12 million people in life-saving skills, and keeps U.S. military families connected worldwide. The Red Cross is also the largest supplier of blood and blood products. It also assists victims of worldwide conflicts and international disasters.
Cork Simon Community

The Cork Simon Community is a local branch of the Simon Communities of Ireland, a national organization devoted to preventing and addressing homelessness in Ireland. The Community reaches out to people who are homelessproviding a range of accommodation and support and campaigns for a society without homelessness.
Girls, Inc.

Girls, Incorporated is a national nonprofit youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. For over 50 years, Girls, Incorporated has provided vital educational programs to millions of American girls, particularly those in high-risk, underserved areas. Girls, Incorporated develops innovative programs to help girls confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential; and prepares them to lead successful, independent, and fulfilling lives.
National Cyber Security Alliance

The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) is a highly regarded resource for cyber security awareness and education. NCSA provides tools and resources to empower home users, small businesses, and schools to stay safe online.
Project H.E.L.P.

Started in Silicon Valley, Project H.E.L.P. provides year-round educational programs offering an extra 200 hours of supplemental classroom instruction per year to underachieving elementary school students. This supplemental instruction offers a five-week summer term and a nine-month, school-year extension.
Rebuilding Together

Rebuilding Together is the nation's largest volunteer organization preserving and revitalizing homes and communities. The organization's mission is to keep low-income homeowners, especially the elderly, disabled, and families with childrenl, living in warmth, safety, and independence.
Scholarship America

Teach For America

Teach For America is a national corps of recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools. Corps members  transform the lives of children growing up in low-income communities. They use their insight and commitment to assume leadership roles inside and outside the field of education and work toward the fundamental changes necessary to provide more equal opportunities for all children in our nation. Corps members teach in seventeen locations in underserved communities across the country.
