Bryan Barney is the executive vice president, product development, at McAfee. In this role, he is responsible for all product management, engineering, and threat intelligence research.
An 18-year veteran of the software industry, Barney joined McAfee in 2001 as vice president of engineering for the McAfee System Security product group, where he helped lead the development of many of McAfee’s flagship products, such as the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) platform and VirusScan Enterprise. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of worldwide engineering.
Prior to joining McAfee, Barney worked at Novell for nine years. In his last position, he was the director of engineering for the NetWare Server Operating System and the NetWare Windows Client engineering groups.
Barney is a member of the board of directors of the Software Association of Oregon. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from Brigham Young University.
Barney lives in Beaverton, Oregon, with his wife and five children. He enjoys skiing, hunting, fishing, and his family.
