John Giamatteo is corporate vice president in the Intel Security Group and general manager of the group's consumer business unit at Intel Corporation. He is responsible for building accelerated growth strategy through strategic industry relationships and alternate routes to market around the globe.
Giamatteo joined the Intel organization with the acquisition of McAfee Inc., now part of the Intel Security Group. He has accrued more than 25 years of experience at international technology firms and has held leadership positions at companies such as AVG Technologies, McAfee, Nortel, RealNetworks, and Solera. He also has an extensive global background, having lived and worked throughout Asia, Europe, and North America, managing large-scale teams across a full range of functions within direct-to-consumer and business-to-business models.
Before joining McAfee in 2013, Giamatteo was chief operating officer at AVG. He led the company to a successful IPO and developed AVG's market strategy across multiple functions. At Solera and RealNetworks, he led global operations and developed key initiatives that contributed to the success of both organizations.
Giamatteo holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA degree, both from St. John's University in New York.
