Michael (Mike) DeCesare is president of McAfee, part of Intel Security and the world’s largest dedicated security technology provider. DeCesare defines McAfee’s purpose in clear terms: keep every digital life safe. In his time with the company he has doubled annual revenue, while also making McAfee the de facto standard in security technology.
DeCesare tags the security sector as IT’s most challenging space in which to do business, and with good reason. Generating more than 200 online threats per minute, cybercrime is now estimated to siphon off a half trillion dollars from the global economy every year. That’s why DeCesare and his team of 7,500 global employees are single-minded in McAfee’s relentless focus to protect their 160 million customers. These digital citizens — from government agencies and home users, to the smallest start-ups and largest corporations — rely on McAfee technologies to defend their devices, networks, and data. DeCesare’s investment philosophy is centered on innovation, resulting in the company’s visionary Security Connected strategy — equal parts hardware-enhanced security and unique global threat intelligence.
DeCesare joined McAfee in 2007 as executive vice president of worldwide sales and assumed the office of the president in 2011. Under his leadership, employees repeatedly name the company a top place to work. They also rally behind global community outreach, making the world a better place, one act of giving at a time. DeCesare is especially proud of the caliber of talent at McAfee. He recognizes employees not only for the security know-how they possess, but also for their self-starter efforts to push technology further.
DeCesare is a graduate of Villanova University.
