McAfee’s Own Employees Vote Their Office to be Recognized as One of the Best Work Environments in the City
Santa Clara, Calif., 10 November 2011 - The Dallas Morning News has named McAfee among the Top 100 Places to Work in Dallas, Ft. Worth. McAfee, the world’s largest dedicated security company, made the DFW Top 100 list in the Large Company category for the very first time this year.
McAfee was chosen as a Top Place to Work based on an independently conducted anonymous survey of its employees by The Dallas Morning News’ research partner, Workplace Dynamics. “To be chosen as a great place to work by our own employees demonstrates a company-wide culture of trust and respect,” says Joe Gabbert, EVP of Global Human Resources. “McAfee’s people are passionate about protecting the systems, networks and mobile devices of our worldwide customers. Further, we are equally passionate about offering competitive compensation, benefits, flexible working environments, telecommuting, and career growth opportunities globally to all of our employees.”
The company values and understands that its employees’ hard work and commitment contributes to its daily success. As such, McAfee benefits include a quarterly pay for performance program, stock benefits, a 401k match, wellness reimbursement, free refreshment centers, plus a Friday breakfast for all employees. In addition to its emphasis on recognition and showing appreciation for hard work, McAfee culture values having fun and giving back. Through various activities for employees and a community service program called McAfee Cares, the company is a leading supporter of charitable causes and volunteerism in the communities where employees live, work and play.
This year’s DMN Top 100 Places to Work list was compiled from a 24 question survey sent to employees asking them their opinions on six areas of the workplace including direction, execution, career, conditions, managers, and pay and benefits. The research firm has studied responses from 3,500 organizations and 1,450,000+ employees. This is the third annual Top 100 Places to Work survey. Winners were announced during the annual luncheon held on Wednesday, November 9, at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
McAfee has also received accolades globally for its company culture. It was recognized a few weeks ago at The Australian HR Awards, as a winner in the category of Best Learning & Development Strategy. McAfee was chosen based on its induction training, sales training programs and its emerging talent group. Earlier this year, McAfee was named a great place to work in Australia by the Great Places to Work Institute Inc. The recognition was based on McAfee’s credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
