Sherif El Nabawi is the director of emerging markets for McAfee Professional Services, where he is responsible for delivering strategic security services and solution services, developing new business, and building relationships with key customers and partners. He joined McAfee in 2008, focusing on IPS, data loss prevention, and vulnerability management. During his time at the company, he has worked on international EMEA projects for customers such as Lloyd’s, HSBC, Aramco, Q-Chem, and QFC.
El Nabawi has been employed in various fields in information security, including time-division multiplexing (TDM), VoIP, data communications, and routing and switching. Prior to joining McAfee, he worked at Siemens, where he started as a voice engineer in Egypt, then moved to Belgium to work in international support for VoIP products. El Nabawi relocated to the U.K. in 2001 and became a senior VoIP consultant. Siemens’ alliance with Cisco and Huawei led him to join the IPSEC department in 2006, focusing on routing and switching technologies. In 2007, El Nabawi began concentrating on firewall security and intrusion prevention technologies. His interest in business development resulted in his nomination to the High Flyer Network, where he worked on critical business projects and presented directly to the executive management team. El Nabawi was also nominated to lead the High Flyer Network team.
During his time at Siemens, El Nabawi gained various certifications and accreditations, including CISSP, CCSP, HCIE, and CEng MIET. He was also chosen to be part of the year-long Focus on Potential Management training program. In addition, El Nabawi achieved chartered engineer status from the Institute of Engineering and Technology while working at Siemens.
El Nabawi holds a Bachelor of Science in communication engineering, and a Master of Science in satellite, personal, and mobile communications from the University of Westminster, London.
