On August 14, McAfee®, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) acquired Reconnex, Inc. a leading data loss prevention (DLP) company with unique technology that learns and adapts to automate the ongoing protection of data. A privately held company based in Mountain View, California, Reconnex protects information for more than one and a half million users today.
With this acquisition, McAfee has taken another significant step toward its goal of holding the leadership position in proactive security and risk management solutions. It also builds on McAfee's data protection portfolio, giving customers the most complete solution on the market.

Beginning January 12th, 2008, McAfee will begin providing you online Reconnex product and technical support. For telephone support, please continue to use the following phone number until further notice: (866) 940-4580.
By now, you should have received a McAfee Gold or Platinum Support welcome letter and a McAfee Grant letter. Your Grant number is required to gain access to the McAfee Downloads site and the interactive features on the McAfee ServicePortal. Please see Platinum or Gold Support user handbook to review the service request process.
Some changes to your Reconnex online support experience:
- The Reconnex Support Portal has been redirected to the McAfee ServicePortal at https://mysupport.mcafee.com. You must register using your new McAfee Grant Number.
- The McAfee ServicePortal at is the starting place for all your support interactions. From there you can search the KnowledgeBase, browse Product Documentation, watch Video Tutorials, download Software Updates, and enter Service Requests.
- It is not necessary to log in to search the KnowledgeBase. However, authenticated users enjoy extra features such as favorites and subscription services.
- All current Reconnex product documentation is now located on the McAfee ServicePortal.
- Product Updates and patches are now available from the McAfee Downloads site at: http://www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/downloads/index.html
