Mike Carpenter currently serves as president for Americas sales. In this role, he is responsible for general management of a billion dollar business, including McAfee consumer, commercial, and public sector clients in the United States, Canada and Latin America. His responsibilities include overall business management, channel development, product guidance, and their respective go-to-market strategies.
Carpenter previously served as senior vice president for global public sector at McAfee. In this capacity, he was responsible for operating and growing the company’s business across federal, state, and local sectors worldwide. Carpenter also led nonpublic sector U.S. verticals, including critical infrastructure, energy, healthcare, education, and system integrators, as well as oversaw all intelligence, defense, and civilian government agency work. Under Carpenter’s leadership, the McAfee public sector organization has been the fastest growing segment in the company.
For more than 10 years, Carpenter served in multiple management roles across McAfee. As the executive sponsor for the U.S. Department of Defense business, he pioneered the launch of an open McAfee ePO architecture and encouraged McAfee to build the Security Innovation Alliance (SIA), the technology partnering program used to accelerate the development of interoperable security products.
Prior to joining McAfee, Carpenter founded a web development firm and a leading online media company for the public safety market. Carpenter serves on the board of directors for the USO of Metropolitan Washington and MindChild Medical, an organization that utilizes revolutionary technology to make the care of women during childbirth a safer and more economical process.
Carpenter earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts, where he played collegiate football. He currently resides in Washington, D.C. with his family.
