Leading Wireless, Voice and Data Provider Leverages Hedgehog Database Activity Monitoring and End User Accountability Software to Secure and Protect Sensitive Customer Data
SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 5, 2010 - Sentrigo, Inc., the innovator in database security software, today announced that Pelephone Communications, a leading mobile operator and telecommunications provider in Israel has deployed its Hedgehog Enterprise and Hedgehog IDentifier software solutions to protect and secure the sensitive information stored in its databases. Sentrigo’s comprehensive database security technology protects the high volume of sensitive data stored in Pelephone’s database, ensuring that the personal data of its customer base is safe from unauthorized access and exposure. The transaction was facilitated by One1, Sentrigo’s exclusive distributor in Israel, including evaluation support, implementation consulting, procurement and deployment at Pelephone.
Sentrigo’s Hedgehog Enterprise detects potential malicious activity in real-time and terminates sessions of any “suspicious” users accessing the databases. In addition, Hedgehog IDentifier provides complete end-user accountability on all databases, even if a pooled connection has been used or the activity originated from a privileged user. The system also provides comprehensive reporting, allowing auditing of any unusual activity in the databases for compliance purposes.
“The importance and sensitivity of the data stored in our databases led us to conduct a thorough review of the leading security tools currently available on the market,” said Sharon Alalouf, director of software development and infrastructure department in Pelephone’s Engineering Division. “Sentrigo solutions best met our needs by providing maximum security and consistent protection for our databases and seamlessly integrated with our existing security products and other infrastructure systems. We have been particularly impressed with how quickly we were able to implement the technology, its ease of use, and the flexible implementation of our security policies. I believe that this solution will provide us with the most effective and appropriate security against the threats that enterprises are facing today.”
By deploying Sentrigo’s best-of-breed database security solutions, Pelephone is able to augment their current data security strategy and leverage the Sentrigo technology for real-time database monitoring, auditing and breach prevention.
David Davidoff, VP of sales at Sentrigo, highlights the reasoning behind telecommunications companies increasingly moving to implement data security solutions, stating: “Mobile carriers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and cable/satellite companies all have databases containing personal and sensitive information such as account and billing details, call history and email traffic.” He added, “A breach of these databases, or the misuse of the sensitive info stored in them, potentially exposes these firms to long-term financial and reputational damage. Leading enterprises like Pelephone are implementing Sentrigo to protect their customers’ privacy in order to meet regulatory requirements that vary by country, and to avoid the costs of a breach.”
