McAfee, Inc. Executive Appointed to DHS-SRI Identity Theft Council

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ McAfee, Inc., (NYSE: MFE), the leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management, today announced that Dr. Ken Baylor, director of market development and strategic alliances at McAfee®, has been appointed to the Department of Homeland Security-Stanford Research Institute (DHS-SRI) Identity Theft Technology Council (ITTC). The council is a working forum where experts and leaders from the government, private, financial, IT, venture capitalist, academia and science sectors come together to address the problem of identity theft and related criminal activity on the Internet.

The goal of ITTC is to identify proactive IT security solutions and assist in the acceleration, development and deployment of these solutions into the market place. The council has four working groups focused on Phishing, Data Sharing and Data Collection, Future Threats, and Development and Deployment. Additionally ITTC works closely with the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), an organization with which McAfee is actively involved.

Dr. Baylor is recognized as a leader in Risk Management and Network Security. For more than 15 years he has led global IT security teams and was instrumental in rolling out McAfee's Intrusion Prevention System in the EMEA region. He currently heads McAfee's strategic alliances and partner management for developing markets. He holds a Law degree from the University of Wolverhampton England, an MBA from the University of Texas and a Ph.D. from University College Cork Ireland, in addition to a number of leading security certifications.
