Benefits and Features
Benefits:
- Protect your resources. Prevent malicious threats from damaging your email servers or infecting your systems. McAfee Security for Email Servers uses the award-winning McAfee scanning engine to detect, clean, and block viruses, worms, Trojans, and other potentially unwanted programs from your Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino servers.
- Enforce compliance. Filter messages based on size, attachment type, or message content. Block or quarantine messages that contain specific words or phrases in the subject line, message body, or attachments. Ensure compliance with corporate email policies by adding disclaimers.
- Maintain employee productivity. Maintain employee productivity and reduce wasted email server storage with the optionally licensed anti-spam feature.
- Simplify management. Save time and resources by managing via the built-in management interface or via McAfee's centralized management consoles—McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
Features:
- Zero-day protection from viruses and spyware. On-access scanning checks incoming and outgoing email messages for viruses, worms, and other malware. Scheduled scans continually protect public and private folders on Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino servers. Automatically downloads the latest virus definitions (DAT files) via HTTP, FTP, network file share, or ePolicy Orchestrator.
- Advanced content filtering. Stop inappropriate email in its tracks by filtering messages based on various criteria: attachment file names, file types, subject line, message body, attachment content (over 300 file types supported), or size. Use pre-built content filters for offensive content, or build your own content filtering rules to protect sensitive data from leaking out of your organization.
- Central management and reporting. Manage GroupShield and other McAfee security products from a single console (McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator) and generate graphical reports.
- In-memory scanning. By scanning items in memory without writing them to disk, McAfee Security for Email Servers minimizes load on your email servers.
- Central quarantine. Manage spam and other forms of quarantined mail across multiple servers with McAfee Quarantine Manager (included at no extra charge). Users can manage their personal whitelists, blacklists, and spam quarantines.
Description:
McAfee Security for Email Servers provides comprehensive content security for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino servers. It provides three essential functions:
First, Security for Email Servers blocks viruses and other email threats from incoming and outgoing mail and from being stored on your email servers. Even if you already have a layer of email security at the perimeter of your network, you must have a second layer security on your email servers to prevent viruses from traversing your internal network and to detect viruses that might have slipped past your perimeter defenses and are now hiding on your email servers, waiting to explode.
Second, McAfee Security for Email Servers blocks spam with the optionally licensed anti-spam module.
Third, McAfee Security for Email Servers allows you to enforce corporate policies for email usage by filtering offensive content and preventing sensitive data from leaking out.
