Supported platforms for VirusScan Command Line for Windows

 

Microsoft operating systems:

  • Windows NT 4 - Service Pack 6a only
  • Windows 2000 - Service Pack 4 only
  • Windows XP 32-bit and x64 Edition (with current and previous Service pack)
  • Windows Server 2003 32-bit and x64 Editions (with current and previous Service pack)
  • Windows Vista 32-bit and x64 Editions (with current and previous Service pack)
  • Windows 7 32-bit and x64 Editions
  • Windows Server 2008 32-bit and x64 Editions (with current and previous Service pack)


Memory requirements for the Engine:

 
  • At least 64 MB of free hard disk space.
  • At least 128 MB of free hard disk space reserved for temporary files.

For Windows Vista & Server 2008

  • At least 512 MB of RAM. 1024 MB (recommended).


For all other Windows platforms

  • At least 128 MB of RAM. 256 MB (recommended).

Supported platforms for VirusScan Command Line for UNIX

   

The following requirements are mandatory for installing this software on any supported platforms:

  • Current version of the UNIX operating system that you require must be installed and running properly before you install the software
  • Root account permissions to install the software and perform an on-demand scan of your file system.

Disk space and Memory:

 
  • At least 64 MB of free hard disk space
  • At least 128 MB of free hard disk space reserved for temporary files
  • At least 128 MB of RAM.  256 MB (recommended)

UNIX operating systems:

 
  • IBM AIX 5.2, 5.3 and 6.1 for RS6000 with the latest Maintenance Packages installed.  
  • FreeBSD 6.1 --> 7.2 for Intel (x86) 32-bit with legacy compatibility library libc.so.3 installed.
  • Hewlett-Packard HP-UX 11.0, 11i, 11iv2, and 11iv3 for PA-RISC with the latest Standard HP-UX patch bundles installed.
  • Linux for Intel 32-bit distributions with libstdc++.so.5.0.5 or later installed
  • Linux for Intel 64-bit distributions shipping with version 2.6 production kernel, with libstdc++.so.6 installed.
  • Sun Microsystems Solaris for SPARC versions 8, 9 and 10 (32 and 64-bit) with the latest Solaris OS recommended cluster installed.
  • Sun Microsystems Solaris for X86 versions version 10 (32 and 64-bit) with the latest Solaris OS recommended cluster installed.
