TRANSBORDER TRANSFERS Nova Scotia enacted the Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act and Regulations to control the flow of information from Canada to the United States or other third countries.
FINES AND SANCTIONS Every director, officer or employee of a public body, other than a service provider or an employee or an associate of the service provider, who maliciously discloses personal information in contravention of this Act or the regulations is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine of not more than two thousand dollars or to imprisonment for six months, or both,
