Confidential Relationship (Preservation) Law imposes criminal sanctions for the disclosure of particular types of confidential information in certain circumstances whereas the rules of common law and equity provide civil remedies for such disclosures. The Computer Misuse Law 2000, Section 6, prohibits any entity from intercepting or causing to be intercepted any function or output of a computer. This apparently would include any web bugs or other types of technology that may collect information from a customer’s computer. |
