Quick Tip #1: Verify Protection Coverage for Your Business Systems
Computers that have not been updated with the latest security patches or other operating system updates can cause security risks. Follow these steps to ensure that computers at your business have the latest protection installed.

  1. Log in to McAfee SaaS SecurityCenter.
  2. Review the “Virus and Spyware Protection Coverage” section.
  3. Identify systems that are not installed or out of date, and click on the pie chart to understand the reason these computers are not updated.
  4. Contact users as appropriate to bring systems online to update their security automatically with McAfee SaaS Endpoint Protection.
  5. Take advantage of the asset management capabilities of McAfee SaaS Endpoint Protection by clicking “Reports>Computer Profiles” to check that all your systems are running the latest software patches.

Quick Tip #2: Customize Security Policies
It is important to set up security policies for your business computers. Setting policies ensures that your protection works the way you would prefer. Follow these simple steps to set security policies for your computers, schedule on-demand scans, improve performance, and manage updates.

  1. Log in to McAfee SaaS SecurityCenter. Click on the “Policies” tab and then on “Add Policy.”
  2. Type a name for the policy in the text box.
  3. Under “Update Settings,” select “Check for updates every 4 hours.”
  4. Click on “Virus and Spyware Protection” and then on the “Advanced Settings” tab. Under “Maximum percentage of CPU time allocated” select “Low” to improve the performance of your computers when a scan is running.
  5. Review other policy settings and customize to suit your business’ needs.
  6. Set the new policy as your default policy.

Quick Tip #3: Protect Against Malicious Websites
Inadvertent visits to malicious websites can result in spyware, password-stealing Trojans, and other malware entering your business environment. You may also want to prevent employee access to websites that your business has determined inappropriate. Configure your McAfee security to help protect your organization from malicious or inappropriate websites.

  1. Log in to McAfee SaaS SecurityCenter and click on the “Policies” tab.
  2. Identify the default policy and click “Edit.”
  3. Select “Browser Protection and Web Filtering” and click on the “Content Rules” tab (you will need McAfee SaaS Endpoint Protection — Advanced Suite to set up Content Rules).
  4. Configure the content categories for which you wish to warn or block access.
  5. Configure any exceptions in the “Exceptions” tab.
