NetworkWorld recently reported that Security as a Service has become a popular solution within the enterprise sector due to the convenience and overall flexibility offered by the solutions.
Citing IT security pro Lincoln Cannon, NetworkWorld notes that web security solutions based in the cloud eliminate certain steps that can lead to employee mishaps. Once loaded, the solutions allow employees to access the web through the secured portal.
IT managers like them, especially, because it's one fewer solution to manage in-house. Furthermore, they are often less expensive since companies can avoid substantial licensing costs associated with on-premise solutions deployments of any kind.
Like other SaaS solutions, Security as a Service eliminates upgrades and other maintenance required to ensure software performs optimally. Vendors make these adjustments themselves, which, again, means one fewer task for already-overburdened IT workers to handle.
SaaS has also risen to prominence due to its ability to become a value-added solution. Market research firm Forrester recently reported SaaS enables companies to add services to their product arsenal due to the time and cost savings generated by SaaS.
