The level of trust small business IT decision-makers have in cloud computing has risen sharply of late, according to a study from Advanced Micro Devices.
The researchers found that 70 percent of respondents had at least one cloud service in place or planned to do so in the near future, and well over half - 60 percent - said they had already seen meaningful ROI.
More than nine out of 10 current cloud users said that infrastructure was an important consideration for their move to the cloud, according to AMD.
"As an industry, we must provide clear guidance about how to optimize hardware and software for all types of clouds, focusing on custom parts for specific workloads that are prevalent in the cloud and the appropriate balance of performance, power and cost efficiency they require," said the company's general manager and vice president of server and embedded divisions, Patrick Patla.
Keeping cloud security in mind during a cloud move is the responsible thing to do, according to experts, ensuring that critical information and client data don't wind up in the wrong hands.
