As enterprises continue adopting cloud technology, it's imperative for them to establish an IT department containing cloud-related experience and skills.
According to a recent report by WANTED Analytics, a provider of real-time business intelligence for recruiters, more than 10,000 job advertisements during the previous 90 days required cloud computing skills, a 61 percent increase compared to the same period one year ago.
The report said more than 2,400 companies posted ads for cloud-related positions. Computer specialists and programmers were the most likely employment opportunities to require cloud skills, while some marketing, sales and customer service positions also desired such skills.
Location impacts the amount of available cloud jobs, as the report said San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose and New York had the highest demand for cloud computing talents. Recruiters in San Fransisco posted more than 1,000 such positions, a 95 percent year-over-year increase.
According to a recent Forbes report by IT expert Joe McKendrick, cloud computing is changing job titles and companies are progressively seeking employees with cloud experience. McKendrick said some job search websites include positions for cloud specialists, cloud computing architects and cloud managers.
