Find a sponsor:<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

\u201c<\/span>First, f<\/span>ind someone working in sales or presales who can serve as your sponsor<\/span>. This is<\/span>\u00a0someone\u00a0<\/span>who<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>can<\/span>\u00a0get<\/span>\u00a0you<\/span>\u00a0in touch with the right people.\u00a0<\/span>Then<\/span>, show your value, communicate clearly, and own your brand. Make yourself visible and connect with people who can promote you inside of sales. Start with a professional LinkedIn account.\u00a0<\/span>Work hard, and m<\/span>ost importantly,\u00a0<\/span>tell<\/span>\u00a0your manager and peers about<\/span>\u00a0your<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>goals.<\/span>\u00a0If you don\u2019t communicate your interest\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0advancing or\u00a0<\/span>moving to different roles<\/span>, they won\u2019t be aware\u00a0<\/span>and can\u2019t help you get there<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest inspirations for me are my mom and my grandma. Back in the day, my grandma broke glass ceilings with double university degrees and built a career in Soviet Russia when it was uncommon. My mom passed me all her knowledge and her entrepreneur spirit. She has always been very strict and demanding, but she taught me how to be brave and independent. She continues to teach me to this day how to question my own thoughts and habits as well as encourage me to think outside-of-the-box.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEarly in my career, I worked for an amazing manager. She told me it was up to me to decide what I wanted to be. She also said there was no one right choice if I stayed as an individual contributor or grew to be a senior leader \u2013 because whatever I decided, I should be incredibly ambitious and always strive to make myself better. I encourage you to ask a successful woman in tech,\u202f\u2018How did you get there and what skills are needed to succeed in your role?\u2019 Ask questions,\u202ffind\u202fa mentor and create a plan for how you can enter that space.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u2019ve overcome a lot of challenges. My mother started her own business at the age of 62. She was a stay-at-home mom when my siblings and I were still at home. It is the small things that women do that inspire me all the time!\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Build support systems with networking:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cNetworking is a great way to find out how you fit in a certain role while\u00a0<\/span>also\u00a0<\/span>making a valuable connection with an organization.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Reach out and get know members of\u00a0<\/span>a community, association or social networking group like LinkedIn<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Don\u2019t be afraid to seek their advice. Learn from them and, if possible, get referrals. You can always leverage their network(s) to get introductions to various employers. I firmly believe women want to help women succeed.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
