Meet Smriti as she shares her incredible story as a new mother and how McAfee helped her to transition comfortably into a new role as a working parent.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Joining McAfee<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

My journey at McAfee began in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>2017<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>as a Peo<\/span>ple Partner. My role includes develo<\/span>ping\u00a0<\/span>p<\/span>olicies\u00a0<\/span>and processes for<\/span>\u00a0People Succes<\/span>s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Welcoming My Daughter<\/h2>\n

My husband and I were\u00a0delighted to welcome our first-born.\u00a0In 2019,\u00a0we\u00a0welcomed\u00a0our daughter into our family.\u00a0While becoming a new parent is both\u00a0<\/span>rewarding and fulfilling<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>it can also\u00a0<\/span>be\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>overwhelming<\/span>\u00a0experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span> The\u00a0<\/span>job\u00a0<\/span>of a parent\u00a0<\/span>is never-ending.\u00a0<\/span>There is no 9 \u2013 5\u00a0<\/span>schedule and you can\u2019t check out<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0You\u2019re always on parent duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finding Balance with the Help of McAfee’s Benefits\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

McAfee’s family-friendly policies and benefits helped our new family bond together. I spent quality time with my daughter during my maternity leave. <\/span>F<\/span>rom<\/span>\u00a0receiving\u00a0<\/span>baby gifts<\/span>\u00a0in the mail<\/span>\u00a0from McAfee<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>getting the\u00a0<\/span>insurance cover<\/span>age<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>mental health support<\/span>\u00a0that I needed<\/span>, McAfee’s benefits for working parents were a\u00a0<\/span>blessing\u00a0<\/span>for us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Opting for Gradual Return to Work with McAfee<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Parenthood is never without its obstacles, and most times, unforeseen ones. When my family could not make it <\/span>home<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>due to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>travel restrictions<\/span>\u00a0because of COVID-19<\/span>, I got\u00a0<\/span>the support\u00a0<\/span>I needed\u00a0<\/span>to extend my leave.<\/span>\u00a0I\u00a0<\/span>also\u00a0<\/span>opted for the Gradual Return to Work Program designed for new moms. This ensured that I\u00a0<\/span>would\u00a0<\/span>not\u00a0<\/span>be\u00a0<\/span>overwhelmed\u00a0<\/span>when reentering the workforce\u00a0<\/span>and that my priorities were well understood.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reuniting with\u00a0<\/span><\/span>T<\/span><\/span>eam\u00a0<\/span><\/span>M<\/span><\/span>embers<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

I received a warm welcome\u00a0from everyone, including my team and my manager. I consider myself fortunate to work\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>a company that understands the value of a new family. Working moms often struggle with work and family. Still, with a little support, they can indeed thrive in their workplaces and have a fruitful career<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Life\u00a0<\/span><\/span>M<\/span><\/span>antra<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

My Life\u2019s Manta\u00a0is\u00a0to\u00a0always look at the bigger picture in life and be thankful for what you have,\u00a0rather than\u00a0think about the downsides. Personally,\u00a0this helps me to be happy and content.<\/p>\n

All over the world, McAfee\u2019s benefits continue to evolve to reflect the needs of working parents. From extended bonding leave to expanded opportunities that help parents transition with our Return to Workplace program, we work tirelessly to create a range of programs unique to each country. We continue to support those who have paused their careers to care for their families as well as new working parents.
