That\u2019s\u00a0where the\u00a0scam\u00a0begins.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fake e-vite\u00a0phishing\u00a0scams\u00a0are on the rise, and they take advantage of something simple:\u00a0<\/span>social trust<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0far more likely to click an invitation than a generic \u201caccount alert\u201d or \u201cdelivery notice.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When you click the “open invitation” link, it immediately asks you to sign in or create an account with your personal information. That’s the step where scammers steal your private data.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
