Detected by McAfee Labs: Malware Campaigns, Malicious\u00a0Downloads, and Suspicious Apps<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Earlier this year, McAfee Labs uncovered\u00a0WeedHack,\u00a0<\/span>a malware campaign disguised as free Minecraft mods and game clients<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since January 2026,<\/span>\u00a0the campaign has infected<\/span><\/b>\u00a0more than\u00a0<\/span>116,000 devices, averaging\u00a0roughly 2,000\u00a0to 3,000 new infections every day<\/span><\/b>. Attackers lured players through fake mod websites and convincing YouTube videos before installing malware capable of stealing passwords, cryptocurrency wallets, Discord credentials, Minecraft accounts, and more.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
