Senior Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development
Tara Long is senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at McAfee. She leads mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and business development for one of the world’s largest pure-play cybersecurity companies.
Most recently, Long served as vice president of strategy and corporate development at Seagate, where she completed M&A transactions worth $2 million to $2 billion across the hardware, software, and services industries. During her 12 years with the global leader in storage solutions, Long was responsible for corporate strategic planning, M&A, equity investments, licensing, and strategic partnerships.
Prior to Seagate, Long served as managing director and director of research at MCG Capital Corporation and managing director and equity research analyst at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin. She has also held research and analysis positions for Banc of America Securities, LLC (formerly Montgomery Securities) and The Washington Service, an economic research firm.
Long has served on a variety of boards, including eASIC, Reduxio, Link-a-Media, and Drobo. She earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
