Xerox Continues to Innovate How People Communicate, Work, and Share Information in Today’s Hyper-Connected World

Partnership with McAfee helps Xerox meet its customers’ security concerns so they can continue to innovate, create, and move business forward

Xerox® is an $11 billion Fortune 500 global corporation known best for its print and digital document technology solutions sold in more than 160 countries. Today the company is positioned at the intersection of analog and digital technologies, with industry-leading workflow automation, analytics, personalization, and imaging solutions. In a world in which the ways to communicate, work, and share information have exploded, Xerox focuses on providing solutions that meet the ever-increasing need to do those things better—more intelligently, efficiently, effectively, and safely.

“As security continues to evolve, it is the responsibility of us as vendors, individually and together, to bring secure solutions to the table. … Security is always a part of our baseline and we will continue to raise that baseline.”

—Dr. Alissa Johnson, Chief Information Security Officer, Xerox Corporation

Innovation is part of the Xerox DNA. Investing over $1 billion in R&D annually, Xerox is one of the top 20 patent-producing companies in the world. One of its latest innovations, ConnectKey® Technology, arose out of customers’ security concerns. “Enabling our customers to keep moving business forward is our end goal,” says Xerox Chief Information Security Officer Dr. Alissa Johnson. ”Consequently, as we think about how we evolve our technology, we must also think about the role we play in helping our customers ensure that their data is secure in our devices. Because hackers can and do try to get into the network through IoT devices, it is no longer enough to offer a secure standalone office product. Our customers want a holistic solution that integrates with the rest of the corporate security infrastructure.”

Partnership Secures Data Traveling To, From, and On IoT Printers so Companies Can Keep Innovating with Peace of Mind

Partnering with McAfee, Xerox developed ConnectKey Technology with embedded McAfee technology to protect not only its AltaLink® line of multifunction devices, but the businesses that use them. These Xerox workplace assistants with ConnectKey Technology can protect information whether it is sent to, from, or stored on the device. This technology is helping Xerox customers move business forward in multiple ways:

A hospital makes the move to an electronic medical records (EMR) system to securely digitize patient documents and store them in the cloud.

Traveling executives from a major energy company can securely print documents, often finalized at the last minute, from the cloud.

A bank builds a custom app that cuts invoice processing time by 75%.

“As security continues to evolve, it is the responsibility of us as vendors, individually and together, to bring secure solutions to the table,” Dr. Johnson adds. “I expect McAfee to bring lightweight solutions that are easily embedded and integrated into our products and I expect us to be able to work well together. Security is always a part of our baseline and we will continue to raise that baseline. In the future, I expect our relationship with McAfee will only continue to grow.”
