Stonesoft Press Release, Paris — June 6, 2013 — Stonesoft, the specialist in cyber security, and ESIEA, French state-recognized Graduate Engineering school, have signed an ETS (Educational Training Site) agreement to include Stonesoft ANSSI-qualified solution certification in the education curriculum of the school.
Stonesoft Firewall and IPS are highly effective in protecting IT systems against advanced cyber-attacks and have both been qualified by ANSSI, the French Security Agency:
Leonard Dahan, the Director of Stonesoft France, believes that educational contracting with ESIEA is of prime importance: "We have an ongoing mission to strengthen relationships between business and education. Community-building is favored by this initiative, and we endorse the need for recognized experts to emerge on the national front, in accordance with recent government directives. Two technical schools, Velizy and Sophia Antipolis, already train dozens of future professionals annually, with skills they then carry directly over to industry. The agreement with ESIEA is an important milestone for us."
ESIEA Graduate School has built its reputation over a period spanning more than 50 years by providing high-level engineering training. The establishment offers two specialized Masters degrees (6-year courses), one on IT security taught in French in Paris, the other, "Network & Information Security", taught in English in Laval. Researchers of the school certified by Stonesoft will roll out the Stonesoft modules during the fifth course year.
Eric Filiol, ESIEA Research and Scientific Director, explains the objectives and benefits of the ETS agreement with Stonesoft: "At ESIEA we aim to reconcile the issues of cyberspace with business imperatives and theoretical teaching. At least 10 graduates in computer security each year will address market needs armed with practical knowledge on relevant products approved by the ANSSI. This venture provides both the operational and strategic opportunity to expand the skills of our youth." ESIEA N&IS 2014 alumni will hence include the first Master’s graduates to possess Stonesoft.
