We’re excited about our new release of McAfee® Management for Optimized Virtual Environments AntiVirus (McAfee MOVE AntiVirus) 4.0 that became generally available on July 28, 2016. We encourage our customers to upgrade to this new version as soon as possible to enjoy even greater resource efficiency and faster threat detection and correction. To make this easy, we are offering McAfee AntiVirus Migration Assistant, a new tool to automate your migration process.
Who Can Use McAfee AntiVirus Migration Assistant?
The McAfee AntiVirus Migration Assistant works for upgrading McAfee MOVE Antivius versions 3.5.1 and 3.6.1 to version 4.0. It migrates settings in environments managed with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) version 5.1.3 or later. To get started, you’ll just need to install the Migration Assistant extension on the McAfee ePO server.
If you have McAfee MOVE AntiVirus (Multiplatform) version 2.6.2, you should upgrade to version 3.5.1 and then use the McAfee AntiVirus Migration Assistant to upgrade to version 4.0.
What Can I Migrate?
You’ll be able to migrate policies and clients tasks for McAfee MOVE AntiVirus (Multiplatform) and McAfee MOVE AntiVirus (Agentless). As shown below, you can either choose the automatic migration option to migrate all your policies and clients tasks or choose manual migration to select only the objects you want to migrate. You can also automatically migrate product deployment data for McAfee MOVE AntiVirus (Agentless).
What Happens to Policies During Migration?
The Migration Assistant ensures that the settings in your 3.5.1 or 3.6.1 policies are moved to the correct policies in McAfee MOVE AntiVirus 4.0. Where possible, existing policies are merged with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus 4.0 settings. New default settings are applied to support updated technologies.
That’s it! After migration, you will be ready to deploy McAfee MOVE AntiVirus 4.0. If you’re interested in learning more about McAfee MOVE AntiVirus 4.0 , click here. Also follow us on Twitter at @McAfee for our latest security news.
